We want you to look fabulous for your next Headshot Session! Whether it’s your first time in front of the camera or you’re practically a professional model, here are a few tips and tricks that we find helpful to have you looking your best.
Preparing for your Headshot:
All about you
Doing a headshot session is a glamorous event, pamper yourself before-hand! In the days leading up to your shoot, get lots of rest and drink plenty of water, this will soften any wrinkles, ease dark circles, and give you a natural healthy glow. Try to only use facial or beauty products that you are familiar with in preparation for your session. Introducing new products could irritate your skin.
We recommend that you bring at least 3-6 outfits for your session. When going through your closet try to stay away from patterns or intricate designs, these can be distracting. Solid/neutral colors always work the best. V-necks accentuate the neckline and are very flattering on women, sleeveless shirts or dresses usually look the best with toned arms. When picking out jewelry, something small and complimentary will add the finishing touch to your look.
Makeup and Hair
If you have the opportunity, have your hair and makeup professionally done before your session. If not, simple, natural makeup is a great way to go. We suggest using matte eyeshadow, and bring lipgloss or chapstick with you. Nails should be painted or manicured. Avoid cutting or dying your hair right before your session. Freshly colored hair may appear too vibrant on camera, and always looks more natural after a week or two.
Hopefully this will help you feel prepared and beautiful for your upcoming headshot session. And most importantly, remember to have fun! We are here to provide a wonderful experience, and gorgeous photographs that will last a lifetime.
